Tri-Cities PGA Pro-Am Series

The Series runs from March 11-October 21 at 10 area golf courses. Play with your regular group in this blind draw format that awards amateurs for participation and gives them a chance to draw out on teams for gift certificates. Senior Tees/Super Senior Tees are available and most courses allow play on Sunday. Simply call the golf course to reserve your tee time. 

Players earning 65+ points will be invited to play in the Partners Circle Final Pro-Am at Elizabethton Golf Course on October 21st.

GHIN Handicap

All Players with a valid USGA Handicap will receive a bonus of 5 points!

Sign up for a Handicap at your local course.  Provide proof of Handicap at any Pro-Am to receive hat and bonus points.​

Final Pro-Am

Players that earn 65 or more points will qualify​ for the final Invitation Only Pro-Am on October 21st at Elizabethton GC.  Players will receive a gift certificate that can be used at any participating Pro-Am facility.

What is the Format?

Teams will be a blind draw and consist of a Professional, A Player, B Player, and C Player.  Team score will be determined by two best balls on the team per hole.  The two best balls will be added together on each hole to give the team their total. 

What tees do I play?

A Players (79 and under average) under the age of 50 will play the back tees

A Players  ages 50-61 will play 1 tee forward

B Players (79.1-86 average) will play 1 tee forward

C Players (86.1 and over average) will play 1 tee forward

Players age 62-74 will play 2 tees forward

Players age 75+ will play 3 tees forward

Female Players and juniors under 13 will play 3 tees forward

 

What is the PGA Partners Circle?

It is a rewards program for amateur players.  Players earning 65+ points will be invited to play in the Final Pro-Am.

How much does it cost?

A pro-am round will not exceed $39 (C), $43 (B), $47 (A), depending on the facility.  This covers the pro-am fee AND the cart fee.

How to I sign up?

It’s easy…just call the host facility and schedule your tee time.  You will receive a Pro-Am number at registration that you can use as identification for future events.

How many points are available in the Pro-Ams?

There are 144 available points available and you will need 65+ to earn a spot at the Final Pro-Am.

Are Pro-Am rounds available on Sundays?

Most of the time! Contact host course to see if Sunday pro-am rounds are available.

How are prizes determined?

Teams will be blind drawn after the round to determine prizes.

How does the skins game work?

The skins game is a $5 option to all players (Monday Only).  All of the skins money is paid out in the form of gift certificate to the player(s) that post the lowest score of a hole among all the players in the game.  If multiple skins are won the money will be split among those winning players.  If no skin is won, a random hole will be selected and the money will be split to all the players with the lowest score on that hole.

Is there a handicap limit in order to play?

The Pro-Ams are open to ALL abilities and a valid Handicap is recommended. GHIN Handicap cards are available at your local course.  Players who show a current handicap card will receive 5 bonus points to add to their total for the season.  Players can and will be adjusted based on their Pro-Am scoring average.

Can I play with my friends?

Yes—Bring as many as you want.  You can play with your regular group! All groups must play in threesomes or foursomes.  No groups of 2 or 5 are permitted, and your group may be subject to pairing if you do not have a foursome.

Can I win on multiple teams?

No, players may get drawn out on multiple winning teams but can only receive a gift certificate for the highest finish.

Where does the excess money go for multiple winners?

Players that are drawn out on multiple winning teams are only paid for their highest finish.  Any excess winnings will go towards the final Pro-Am.

What is the final Pro-Am?

The Final Pro-Am is a reward for players who accumulate 72+ points.  The Tri-Cities PGA will cover all player entry fees.
